I’m delighted to be one of the recipients of the Dance Ireland Hatch Award 2020. The award is designed by Dance Ireland to invest in eight artists to have time to build resilience – to have space and time to think, reimagine and rebuild. At this point in my career my practice feels both highly-tuned and unstable whilst I negotiate covid-19 in my life and the lives of others. This paradox is a very interesting point of departure from which to research and recalibrate aspects of creative practice. Alongside this research, I will mentor Mia DiChiaro. Mia was one of the early career dance artist recipients and I’m really looking forward to our relationship unfolding during this process and supporting Mia in her practice.
